The Trossachs is now part of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and ideal for hill-walkers and cyclists. Even the winding roads are famous to motorists for there stunningly picturesque views in many locations within the area.
In 1859 Loch Katrine was changed by a dam which was built at the eastern end with new aqueducts constructed to take a water supply to the city of Glasgow. Even once had a holiday house overlooking the loch.
A steamer ship service in the year 1900, the SS Sir Walter Scott and it is still going to this day, giving tourists and visitors a wonderful way to take in the scenery while enhancing the picturesque view herself.
